A sustained commitment to building beloved community requires deep roots. Using a model of co-discernment, these Bible studies will examine the words of scripture through multiple lenses, with special attention to how selected passages intersect with our work for justice today.

Joshua 1:1-9: New Leaders for a New Promised Land
Climate change, mass extinction, and water pollution are causing massive displacement of people, and will require new leadership for more sustainable ways of living. What clues can we find in the Bible about living into a new “promised land” in a time of ecological crisis? The Exodus is one of the most well-known stories of the Bible; while much of its drama is enacted by humans, it is entwined with non-human creation in the context of wilderness. Together, we will explore generational justice in a time of ecological turmoil.
